Majors Baseball - General Overview

Majors baseball is a league where players are taught pitching mechanics,  fielding, hitting, and base running skills. At the Majors level, most typical baseball rules are enforced.

Defensive outs are enforced and teams switch after 3 outs or after all players have batted.

The games at this level are generally 5-6 innings long and take about an hour and a half to complete. They should be competitive with good sportsmanship.

By the end of the season kids should know how to leadoff from all bases, and how to steal. Pitchers should know how to hold runners at all bases and how pick off at each base. Pitchers should also know how to pitch from both the wind up and the stretch, and understand balk rules.
